Living the Questions

How Do We Stay Human in Changing Times?

Many of us are searching for something increasingly difficult to find: thoughtful conversation that slows us down rather than speeds us up, invites curiosity rather than certainty, and helps us navigate life's complexities without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Living the Questions is a monthly online conversational salon where we explore the timeless questions of human existence and the practical challenges of living in a rapidly changing world. Together we create a welcoming space to reflect, listen, learn from one another, and discover that wisdom often grows through conversation rather than certainty.

What Is Living the Questions?

Living the Questions is a collaborative conversation hosted by Paula Reardon-Webster and Vaishnavi Roberson. Each gathering begins with a central question that invites thoughtful reflection rather than easy answers. Together we explore diverse perspectives, discover unexpected points of connection, and learn from one another's experiences in an atmosphere of curiosity, openness, and mutual respect.

Together we explore topics such as purpose, belonging, uncertainty, hope, relationships, compassion, resilience, and what it means to live fully and consciously during times of rapid change. While our own backgrounds naturally inform the conversation, this is not a lecture or debate. It is a shared exploration shaped by curiosity, respectful dialogue, and the experiences participants bring.

Each gathering is unique. Some conversations may be inspired by current events, others by philosophy, psychology, spirituality, literature, or simply the questions that arise from everyday life. Our intention is to create a place where people can think together, listen deeply, and leave feeling a little wiser, a little more hopeful, and a little less alone. Who Is It For?

Living the Questions welcomes thoughtful people who are curious about life, open to learning, and interested in meaningful conversation.

You may especially enjoy these gatherings if you:

  • Are navigating a season of change, transition, or uncertainty.

  • Long for deeper conversations than everyday life often provides.

  • Value curiosity more than certainty and questions as much as answers.

  • Enjoy exploring purpose, meaning, relationships, and what it means to live well.

  • Appreciate hearing diverse perspectives offered with openness and respect.

  • Believe wisdom grows through thoughtful dialogue rather than debate.

  • Are seeking a warm, welcoming community where you can reflect, listen, and learn alongside others.

People of all spiritual, philosophical, and religious backgrounds are warmly welcome, as are those who are simply curious about life's deeper questions.

What Makes This Conversation Different?

Living the Questions is grounded in the belief that no one perspective holds all the wisdom. We believe our understanding deepens when we approach one another with curiosity, humility, and a willingness to listen.

People of all spiritual, philosophical, and religious backgrounds are warmly welcome, as are those who are simply curious about life's deeper questions.

We especially value people of different generations, cultures, racial and ethnic backgrounds, spiritual traditions, and life experiences because we believe thoughtful conversation across our differences makes all of us wiser.

In a culture that often rewards quick opinions, certainty, and polarization, Living the Questions offers something different. We believe the quality of our questions shapes the quality of our lives. Rather than trying to persuade one another or arrive at final answers, we create space for thoughtful conversation, deep listening, and the possibility that we may all leave seeing life a little differently.

Our hope is that each gathering leaves participants feeling more connected, more hopeful, and a little wiser—not because every question has been answered, but because we've had the opportunity to explore it together. We also hope everyone leaves with one meaningful question to carry into the month ahead.

You May Be Wondering...

Do I need to prepare anything?

Not at all. Simply come with an open mind and a willingness to listen, reflect, and participate in whatever way feels comfortable.

Is this a lecture?

No. While Paula and Vaishnavi introduce each month's theme and help guide the conversation, Living the Questions is intentionally conversational. Participant reflections and thoughtful dialogue are an important part of the experience.

Do I have to participate?

No. Some people enjoy sharing their thoughts, while others prefer simply to listen. Both are welcome.

Is this connected to a particular religion or belief system?

No. Although our own backgrounds include contemplative and spiritual traditions, Living the Questions welcomes people from many perspectives. Our shared commitment is to thoughtful conversation, curiosity, and respect.

Will every month have a different topic?
